What's Going On..?

So let me tell you what I'm up to...

These days I'm on a sabbatical.

I worked really hard for a year while living in San Diego, producing my own material so that I would have enough matches to update my website for a year.

Recently,  while on tour with the Chicago Knockers (a.ka. American Knockers), I visited Hawaii, and thought that it would be a perfect place to retreat to.

How many people get to say that they are taking a year off in Hawaii?

I’m an adventurous person, very spontaneous, and I love shocking friends and family with news they hardly believe.

I love being that person that people look at, and say, “I wish I had the balls that you have!”

This isn’t the first time I have picked up and taken some time off.

While working on my Master’s degree, I disappeared twice.
Once to backpack all the way through western Europe for three months, and another time to study in Denmark for 4 months.

There is something about traveling by myself and exploring unknown territory that revitalizes my brain and feeds my soul. I know that I will not be able to do this forever, so I am taking advantage of these opportunities while I can.

I currently have no shoots or events planned until March 2010, but I would like to talk about some recent projects that I have worked on, and that I am very excited about.

I am sure that many people have seen the promotion of Wrestlicious. I shot the pilot with Jimmy Hart last August and have high hopes for show.

People have emailed me with their conflicting views on this promotion, asking questions like, “why would you do something so corny when you are considered a professional wrestler?”

Well, I will be the first to tell you that this promotion was by far the best promotion I have worked for in my 8 years of wrestling. Not only was it professional, but wrestling for Wrestlicious was one of the most hysterically fun things I have ever done.

I played a character named, Glory – the All American Girl. I found this character perfect for my personality. Maybe my tattoos don’t fit the mold of the “All American Girl” but I do feel like an All American Girl.

I really got into this character, and I hope everyone gets to see the pilot we shot.
I created a finish called the “Troop Salute.” The Troop Salute is a very simple, but hysterical move. I slam my opponents with a power move then I hit the ropes and come off with a leg drop (Hogan Style) except I stop a few feet in front of my opponent and give a military march and salute before dropping the leg.

Everyone should really hope that this promotion becomes something big.
We independent wrestlers need this company because it focuses solely on female talent, and it is sure too keep us all entertained, GUARANTEED!

Another project I want to mention is the American Knockers.

The Chicago Knockers were a well-known mud wrestling group in the late 70s and early 80s.
In May 2009, the Knockers were re-created and put on tour for the first time since 1983.
This was my first time mud wrestling, and let me tell you that it is nothing like professional wrestling.

Mud wrestling is competitive wrestling combined with a small bit of pro wrestling.

There is no determined winner!

It was a totally new experience for me, but it turns out that I was really good at it.

Each match consists of three, one minute rounds. This doesn’t sound like a long time, but it sure feels like it. You must be in terrific shape for this type of match. I run 5 miles a day, just to prepare for one of these three minute matches, yet at the end of each round, I would find myself winded and extremely tired.

The Knockers plan on doing more tours next year, and possible talks of a reality show are in the works too.

So that's what's been up with me lately....

Question for fans:

What is your favorite type of match?

  1. Hey Christie. My favorite type of match is probably submission wrestling. I also love pro-style. Actually, I recently ordered a couple of your DVDs from Lusa Corp...v Kristiana & a mixed one...but haven't received them yet. I'm sure you kick butt, LOL! I will post about them after I see them. Take care.

  2. Aloha Christie,

I like matches that feature submission holds like Ceiling holds, Baby Swings, Camel Clutches and Bear Hugs. It amazes me how strong and flexible you female wrestlers are. Keep making such great videos.

    Have fun on the beach!

  3. I'm a big fan of old school type professional wrestling. As a kid, I used to go to the Olympic Auditorium to see Freddie Blassie and John "The Golden Greek" Tolos battle it out in and out of the ring. It's just not seeing one particular hold or move, it's about how hard the wrestlers work and how willing they are to take a bump.

  5. Hi,Christie!

I'm a big fan of wrestling...and yours too.

I saw you wrestle years ago in Monterrey,Mexico,on LLF(a small parking lot or something)

And i remember that the referee (el mulato) was rudo (heel),and when i yelled that they were cheating on you,he replied "What? is she your woman or what?(in spanish,of course, something like "Qué,es tu vieja o qué?)
To which i replied "A huevo!" which means something like "Hell yes!"

    Well,i don´t expect you remember that,but i sure do.

Congratulations,Christie for all your achievements and for being a beautiful and,as i have seen this up close and personal,a very skillful wrestler.

Greetings from the mountain city,Monterrey,Nuevo Leon,México.

  6. Thank you to everyone that responded to my fan question. It was interesting to get the various answers. I enjoy every type of match that was mentioned as a fan favorite. Over the last year, I have gotten heavily involved in the competitive grappling scene, which I absolutely love. But my roots will always be "old school" wrestling! In the future, I plan on offering more of a variety of matches on my site!

    Hugs and Headlocks,

    Val Demon,

I miss wrestling in that parking lot! Monterrey was such a highlight of my career and I enjoyed each experience in Mexico. Maybe someday I will return!

  7. How's about pro-am wrestling with submissions only and plenty of leglocks?
